Mr. Agate joined Ameresco as one of the industry's first adopters in understanding the microgrid business model and its numerous value propositions. Will has been working with Ameresco for nearly five years, starting as a client, progressing as a strategic partner, and in developing strategic business relations with multiple engineering, technology and academic institutions. Will leads in applying and integrating the microgrid business into Ameresco's broader energy solutions offerings.

Prior to joining Ameresco Mr. Agate founded NetZero Microgrid Solutions (NetZero), a consulting practice. Leading NetZero represented a culmination of Mr. Agate's more than 25 year career in energy management, economic and real estate development, and smart city sustainability design and implementation.

Mr. Agate served from 2010-2016 as a Senior Vice President with PIDC, Philadelphia's public-private economic development corporation, in charge of the nationally acclaimed Philadelphia Navy Yard. The Philadelphia Navy Yard is a dynamic and modern 1,200-acre business campus where Mr. Agate led the effort to interject a progressive energy plan into the overall sustainability effort, making it one of the most successful military base redevelopments in the country.
