Sam Booth is a Senior Project Leader at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He has over ten years of experience in the clean energy industry working on microgrids, renewable energy, and finance. He is currently leading work to support the Power Africa Beyond the Grid Program with developer technical assistance, knowledge products, and country policy support. He has worked on numerous other international projects such off grid feasibility studies in Indonesia, renewable energy development in Haiti, and island energy planning in Brazil. He is also currently helping Marine Corps installation Miramar to build the most advanced installation scale microgrid in the DoD and recently helped the installation commission and test a 100% renewable building level microgrid. Prior to joining NREL Sam worked in energy and aerospace research and development engineering. He has B.S. degrees from the University of Colorado in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston University.
