Dr. Vicente Salas

Vicente Salas is currently Associate Professor of the Power Electronics Systems Groups at the University Carlos III of Madrid and General Manager of the UC3M PV-Lab at the university. He has participated in numerous projects since 1999 related to microgrids and very large PV grid-connected systems. In addition, he has published more than 50 papers in journals (reviewed), conference proceedings, and books in the field of photovoltaic energy. He is an Associate Editor for international journals as well as technical reviewer for several major international journals and conferences.

Dr. Salas is the Co-Convenor of the WG 6 (Balance-of-system components) of the IEC TC 82 (Solar photovoltaic energy systems) in the Technical Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), about the International Standardization related to PV. He belongs to WG3 (PV Systems) and WG 1, relating to standards for microgrids. He is an expert in different tasks in the Photovoltaics Power Systems Programme (IEA PVPS) of the IEA (International Energy Agency).
